Hord Winding Down Operations - Users Requested to Withdraw Funds

Dear Hord users and community,

After extensive consideration and careful reflection, we have made the difficult decision to shut down Hord.

We began this project with strong conviction in our original vision: building ETF-style crypto pools. As market conditions evolved, we pivoted and successfully built and launched an ETH liquid staking platform with a small, highly committed team and genuine pride in what we achieved.

Over the past two-plus years, we operated close to 70 validators and integrated advanced infrastructure such as SSV and EigenLayer. Despite these efforts, the market landscape has changed materially. ETH staking yields have declined, and the liquid staking ecosystem has become increasingly dominated by a small number of very large players, including Lido, Rocket Pool, ether.fi, and others.

At the same time, ETH liquid staking business models have proven difficult to sustain. The industry-standard fee of approximately 10% of staking rewards is no longer sufficient to cover validator operations alone. Running Hord requires significant operational effort, dedicated teams, and continuous 24/7 monitoring. Continuing under these conditions would require resources far beyond our current team size and available capital.

We are not willing to compromise on security or service quality, nor are we willing to put the network or user assets at risk. As a result, we have made the hard but responsible decision to wind down the platform.

Action required:

We kindly ask all users to unstake and withdraw their ETH as soon as possible. As validators are shut down, the exit queue will shorten, and withdrawal processing times are expected to improve.

The platform will remain available for withdrawals until February 28, 2026. After that date, we cannot guarantee continued maintenance or availability of the application.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who trusted us and joined us on this journey, as users, stakers, backers, and community members. Thank you for your support, your feedback, and your belief in what we set out to build.

Sincerely,The Hord Team
